ADDING VALUE
Mosaic Venture Partners is a venture capital fund that invests in early-stage Internet and digital technology companies. We are committed to actively assisting entrepreneurs in creating tangible, long-term value. Our hands-on approach keeps us constantly involved in the success of our portfolio companies. We are a minority investor and we carefully structure our investments so our economic incentives parallel the company’s goals and aspirations. At Mosaic we recognize that building high quality companies is a challenging process, and we work with entrepreneurs as true partners through those challenges.
At the beginning, we immerse ourselves in the operating details of the business to thoroughly understand the products, markets and customers that are critical to the firm’s success. Then we look for ways to add strategic, financial, and operational value.
MOSAIC NETWORK
We believe the quality of our relationships with people is the foundation for our success in helping to build and grow leading companies.
Relationships are the lifeblood of a venture capital firm. We have developed a broad and diverse network of relationships through our careers in merchant banking and venture capital, our contacts from business school, and our former colleagues and clients at McKinsey & Company.
We aggressively mine this network of relationships for opportunities, assistance with due diligence, finding and attracting management talent, identifying and introducing potential customers to our portfolio companies, and a myriad of other contributions to ensure the success of our investments.
When an entrepreneur joins the Mosaic network, he or she becomes a part of our community, with continuous access to and support from Mosaic and its portfolio partners.
TAKING ACTION
When an entrepreneur comes to us with an idea for a company and needs help in fully developing that vision, we understand the importance of taking decisive action. In the high-speed, shift-on-the-fly technology/Internet industry, speed to market is often crucial for the success of a young company. We believe it is important for the financing process to work smoothly and quickly, and we make a point to be especially responsive to the needs of both our potential and existing portfolio companies.
We appreciate the time required to put together a comprehensive business plan. We therefore make great efforts to carefully review all plans submitted to us and respond in a timely manner. After reviewing a business plan, an entrepreneur will know whether there is interest on our side or not. If we feel there is a potential match, we give the company a call to learn more and possibly arrange a face-to-face meeting. We quickly try to assess the needs of the business to structure a term sheet that is beneficial to both parties. We then move speedily through the due diligence process and eventual closing, keeping costs down for the entrepreneur and moving on to the part of the business which we most enjoy — helping our portfolio partners grow their businesses.
If you are an entrepreneur and would like to submit your business plan to us online, you may feel free to do so. We give equal consideration to plans submitted by conventional means as in electronic format.
